I have been patiently waiting for 3 years for this game to fix the ongoing issues, while I have continued to financially support the company with my weekly $ infusions. The customer service has taken on a scripted methodology, while continuing to ignore the same issues that are still plaguing the game. Customer service still pitches the same adage that if you submit your ideas they will make improvements. This is not true! I have been actively sending ideas and new options that could be added to the game to the customer service team. Oh believe me at first they seemed interested and said they loved all the ideas, but I have yet to see them implement anything that would be beneficial to the player. They have no intention of improving the game other than the new and expensive decorator options that they offer for real money. The room challenges continue to ask for unattractive items that require a player to purchase items they don’t like in order to complete their design submission. In my personal opinion, this is not a design game anymore but a cut and paste of specifics, following someone else’s rules, just to get my $. I’m very sorry to say but this game is a scam, targeted toward women who are looking for an adult game that doesn’t involve shooting or violence.

Just about six months ago electronic arts purchased design home from glue mobile and I truly thought there would be some significant change. Sadly to say, EA has done a horrible job picking up the torch and has left the ground a fire field of angry and frustrated players. I don’t know how anyone could feel proud of an achievement like this! All I can say is shame on you and your obsessive greed!

From what I’ve heard, the game was great when it was owned by Crowdstar, but they sold out to Glu. Glu was greedy, while lacking in customer service, they did implement the my home feature which had much potential. EA has turned the game into a cesspool of disgust while customer service puts on a sweet voice and dismisses suggestions for improvement like swatting flies against the wall. This game will never improve to be a real contender for designing a home space!

So from a veteran three year player, I suggest not downloading, not getting involved, and save your money for your own future home purchases. The scoring algorithm will keep you on a disgruntled roller coaster for the rest of your playtime. Players be warned!!

This game would be absolutely amazing. The variety of items to choose from is far and away better than what you get from any other design game. It’s cool that the items exist in real life, and you can buy them if you really have the cash. But this game is not at all for casual players who can’t spend a lot of money on a game. You get VERY little to work with if you aren’t spending money. You get 500 diamonds a day, which is nothing at all when you see how expensive everything is. You can’t earn cash unless you submit a design, and you get very little cash too. It’s just impossible to play this game unless you spend a huge amount of money. I’m just going to delete it and find a game that isn’t such a shameless cash grab.

    1. You don’t get enough money/stuff too expensive
    2. Fun game, layout could be simpler
    3. Challenges are cool
    4. Nice game in general, but easy to get bored of
    5. Really slow sometimes and sometimes has glitches
In conclusion, this is a nice game but could use some improvements
Maybe something like if you complete so many challenges, you get free furniture!
    Thanks!!!

I really wanted to love this app, and was intrigued by the idea of being able to create my own design spaces. At first it was addicting, but so much is wrong with it. It costs so much to do every challenge, as there are required items which cost a fortune and they don’t give you much to work with, it’s almost as though they don’t want you to actually play this app, unless you are willing to fork over serious real cash to play. If I had money to design spaces, I’d do so in real life, not on a lame game thanks. The rewards are not enough to do much with. The rewards system seems bogus as well. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this dumb game.
  • Beautiful Game That’s Impossible to Play

I was really excited when I first started playing this game because the graphics are beautiful and the selection of decor is overwhelmingly huge and diverse. Unlike most other design games, you have access to almost every item right from the beginning, which seemed great even if it meant a ton of scrolling. But I only got to play for 2 days before I was left unable to complete anymore designs because THERE’S NO WAY TO MAKE MONEY IN THIS GAME!

They have two currencies, “diamonds”, which is the premium currency you can buy with real money and use to get special items, and “cash”, which is the main in-game currency used to buy most items. You get 500 diamonds as your daily gift, but there’s no way to get cash other than by submitting designs, and you can’t submit a design without all the required furniture. Since I’m a new player without a big inventory of items, I’m missing at least one item I need to submit each design, with no way of getting them since there’s no way to make cash other than submitting designs. You don’t get cash for voting on designs, you don’t get it for getting a high rating on a submitted design (you just get a reward of random furniture items which are never the ones needed to complete active challenges), you can’t even watch ads for it. The only way to get cash (other than the catch-22 of submitting designs) is to exchange diamonds, which you need a minimum of 5,000 diamonds to do, so you have to either pay real money or collect your daily gift for 10 DAYS STRAIGHT without playing at all to get enough to exchange for cash.

I’m mad that I bought the starter pack before realizing the game was completely rigged. I figured I would be getting the rewards I needed to keep playing if I submitted a bunch of really nice designs that did well in voting, but no. I don’t mind paying some real money for special items sometimes, but it’s insane to have to spend real money just to complete an ugly version of the daily design challenge.

So if you want a really pretty game you need to spend $20+ a week playing, this is a great choice. But if you don’t want to spend huge amounts of money on a mobile game, don’t waste your time.
  • POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT & KNOWLEDGE

    1
    By Okay Game Sometimes
I have not been able to submit my final Penthouse room design in “My Home”. EVERY time I open the room to try to submit it, the app shuts down. I have submitted request via the “contact us” and received only 1 response that was with trying & that was unsuccessful. I received some canned/automatic replies saying someone will be getting back to me. To date, I have not received any resolution.

I notice there are a lot of “CANNED” responses from the Design Home team which suggest nothing is being done to fix problems.

While the app is fun, the customer service has declined significantly.

Problem persists despite the recommended solutions sent from support and trying to resolve on my own. It appears support doesn’t have the knowledge to resolve the shutting down the app problem as I notice the multiple complaints with this issue from others.

Also, the reply to this message asked me to send a separate email with the problem. How silly is this? Why do I need to send a separate email when I’ve been sending messages via the “contact us” route & the problem still hasn’t been resolved? Such a waste of time! If the support department is actually reading the ratings in addition to paying attention to the messages received in “contact us”, they would realize there’s a problem with the app. Makes no sense!

Disappointing “game”. They let themselves off the hook with a lousy voting algorithm… if you have any talent, you will see completely hideous rooms score highly while you get a mediocre score. People vote on whatever is flashy and catches their eye, as you need to vote or purchase keys to submit your own designs. Voters do not give a crap about what they vote in. Providing developer feedback falls on deaf ears. Great game if you don’t care about your integrity. At least strategy games gives you an outcome worthy of your time / this game does not.
