  • doesn’t connect

I’ve been using this alarm for a few months now and every night it disconnects. most of the time it won’t reconnect. I’ve tried everything. When I do get it to connect, it does a poor job of waking me up and the alarm sounds are annoying.
  • Love the idea

I use this every night to help me wind down and as an alarm. Truly love the idea of the gradual light to help wake up in the morning, I feel more refreshed and not as tired. My only complaint is for a very expensive device, I wished it was more functional. Also I don’t get the need for subscription to have access to the other functions - it’s already a very limited device. For these reasons, I feel like there are better options on Amazon for similar/ if not better functions and inexpensive.
  • Great app when it shows up

Half the time I open the app it doesn’t show my hatch on there. I refresh and turn my Bluetooth on and off, close the app, everything and it doesn’t show up. 5 minutes later I get on and it’s there. The unreliability when I have multiple littles and have to change what time it goes on every day for nap (I have it on toddler lock 24/7 so I can’t use the manual controls) is starting to get annoying. I’d love for this bug to be fixed asap. I did give it 4 starts though because the app when it DOES work is amazing!
  • Low quality sound recordings

Really unimpressed with the sound selection. The “rain” sounds like a shower and “water” like a fish tank. You’d think they could do a better job, given the price. We have a cheap Homedics that sounds so much better.

I’ve had these devices forever (since around their original release). I threw them a one-star review to try to get a very simple issue fixed: monitor audio doesn’t go through headphones when connected. It’s been years now and that was still never fixed (despite me even receiving a developer response. Other than that, they should probably develop it a bit more with multi-device households in mind. Right now you can't copy programs between devices, or synchronize programs on devices with groups, etc. If you have two kids and you want the same programs on their individual devices, you need to copy them manually. Also, I'm really bummed to see that I bought a new Rest+ the other day and the LEDs produce different hues than the previous two I bought. You can't use the same lighting / color settings between units manufactured at different times and expect similar results. Also: somehow these devices can get themselves in a state of being 'on' but 'offline' (disconnected from wifi), and never attempt to go back online. It is aggravating to have to physically power cycle the device for it to reconnect to wifi. Lastly: I am seeing information in release notes about some “membership” that allows you to play music through devices. This further solidifies my 1 start rating: too many products these days seek some subscription model and provide a “service” (or proprietary product refills if physical, etc.) that the uninformed may think is valuable, but is in fact unnecessary and purely designed for the constant flow of money. In this case there are things like AirPlay and Bluetooth, which would allow people to play music through speakers without paying monthly. Instead, they will have you pay monthly. Just buy a different device at this point.

It’s 2022 and I’m stuck with only 11 sounds and 6 favorites? Let me add my own sounds and save as many spots as I want… my real complaint with the app / device though is that the app doesn’t stay connected to the device very well. If I open up the app to turn on the light, great. An hour later I open it up to turn the light off, it doesn’t go off. I need to completely exit the app and open it up again.
  • Stole it from my baby

I was given the Hatch to put in my baby’s room but she n I moved him to his nursery, I kept the Hatch in my room. It’s that good. Now we sleep with it every night and even travel with it.
  • Useless AP

AP does not provide ease of access to control this device. Rip off!
  • Should have some free channels available

I’m a little disappointed at the limited amount of content for the Restore. I’m my home, we already had Philips hue lights installed and set up along with Google Nest assistants, so we have much of the functionality from Hatch already. However, I wanted something I could not control with voice and had more dedicated sleep/wake features. I feel that Channels make the biggest difference here. However, all channels content is behind a $50/year membership. I just cannot justify the price of the device plus the membership. Maybe this isn’t the device for me. Or maybe Hatch could add some more free content for device owners without having to subscribe to a membership. That, or make the membership less costly. As it is, I don’t think it’s worth the cost.
  • Not Great

In theory the app is great. Has great features and options and should let you control everything from your phone, but my phone CONSTANTLY has issues connecting to the devices (I have 4). I either have to try to connect at least 5 times until it finally connects or I connect right away and the response time is delayed. Sometimes I lay down with my baby and forget to turn on the sound machine manually and will try to do it from my phone and it turns on 5 minutes after it shows as being on in the app. Same with volume control or changing the sound. It’s frustrating.
