The thing about using carbon is that the result is guaranteed. There may be some bumps along the way as the way as you become more familiar with tracking or as the app is figuring you out, but the end result is guaranteed as long as you can stay compliant. My GF and I only track protein and calories using carbon and we’ve both been able to lose body fat and gain muscle. I’ve been using carbon for almost two years now. My friends who use online coaches pay almost 10 times as much for the same service so I think it’s a great value.
So far (a few days in), it’s working well. Easy to enter and track foods.
The software is pretty bad, I can’t find many of the foods I eat on a daily basis, and it’s very slow to log. I also thought this app might provide some insight into eating/nutrition, but it truly just recommends macros and otherwise serves as a meal logger.
Very nice calculations and info from app. Has been helpful for up and down weight loss.
My calorie target is 1989. For the last 7 days my consumed calories has been 1991, 1988, 1942, 1973, 1941, 2200, 2170 for a total of 14,205 for the week. Divide that number by 7 gives me an average for the week of 2029. Why does Carbon app show Tracked (Avg) of 1719? Even if I move the slider to include today it still shows only an average of 1776. Please enlighten me?
Carbon is not better than the free version of My Fitness Pal.
Normally don’t leave reviews but do not buy this. The database knows nothing you have to input every single thing you eat the barcode finds nothing apart from major popular food brands. If it’s not a super common item like minute rice it won’t find it. Stick with my fitness pal they actually have a deep database I was hopeful for this app but was let down so badly. Spent most of my time in this app adding things that should be found easily. Edit. The app developers responded to my review but it’s as if they don’t use their own app. I logged my food manually more than the barcode worked wish I could get my money back because that was a complete waste of money. After their response of saying they have tons of food in their database but yet when using the app nothing was found I had to go to a 1 star. Stay away from this app

I wanted to use this as part of my recovery and training tool. Unfortunately it only writes weight and body fat and none of the nutritional content that I’m really interested in being taken into consideration with my other recovery apps and protocols. This is a huge failure for me as I really wanted to support something other than My Fitness Pal after hearing Layne’s interviews and work. Hopefully this will be changed soon. I’ll come back then.
I watched about this app with Peter Attia and I knew it would be great. So far so good!
