Saves me time, energy, and money. Measurements are perfect if you live in the US.
  • Not for people with allergies

I was looking forward to this. But unfortunately almost all of the recipe packs have at least 1 meal that contains an allergen for someone in my family and there's no way to filter them out like in typical meal
prep kits. And the few recipes I could cook were only for 1 or 2 people. So it falls flat for me because the selection is worse than that of a meal kit. I was expecting more selection since the team doesn't need to procure the food too. Maybe it will get better over time but allergen filtering is a must even if it has substitution ideas. Also you can't read the recipe easily before cooking (the first step in cooking) it so I didn't know what to expect from a dish.
  • Great cooking tutorials and far less waste!

I’ve always had trouble cooking from recipes - largely because I’d never bother to make sure I had everything required…and when I did, I’d end up wasting a good portion of it (or not getting around to cooking until it was too late for the ingredients). Sidekick makes it easy to shop for multiple meals, easy to make meals midweek with good instructions, and delish food I never thought I’d be able to make at home. Total game changer!
  • Not as customizable as you’d think.

I tried the app, because I love the ideas and I’d not to have to worry about menus. The thing is, I was hoping (since Barry is allergic to pineapple) that there would be an option to opt out of food that you are allergic to or can’t tolerate. There isn’t and since mine is just a trial (for the month), I’m thinking this is not the app for me.

I was hoping to subscribe because the recipes seem really good, but since I have several food allergies it’s just not going to work for someone like me. For example, I’d like to have vegetarian options without eggs (since, yeah allergic) and low carbs. I thought I just would choose the vegan options - but there isn’t one and the and the veggie one included egg as the center. I guess I’m really disappointed because I thought there would be more options for customizing the choices you would have, but there isn’t.

makes cooking dinner easy and almost fun to have everything planned out. I can’t wait to try more recipes! i’ve done 3 weeks so far (9 meals) and i’ve loved them all. also, my partner and I don’t normally cook together because we can’t figure out how and these recipes make cooking together also easy and fun! loving this app!

I’ve been using the app for over 6 ish months and still love it. I like being able to pick my meals on a weekly basis and the grocery bill has shrunk drastically. One you get your base ingredients, you may only need a few extra ingredients a week. 10/10 highly recommend!

    Update 20220401
Updated from 1-2 stars for support responsiveness: I was able to work with the support team contacted through the developer website. While they were really responsive they were unable to find a way to restore access to the app with my existing account. I was able to create a new account, but I did lose the recipe packs I previously had and did pay for a month of subscription, which i was unable to utilize the benefits of the app from. If anyone else has this issue my support ticket was 11522. I was also able to restore access through my original email address and provided how to the support staff. Ill look at updating the review again as I use the new app, and if support contacts me again.

Look my fiancée and I are 25 and we aren’t very skilled in the kitchen with dishes. I HONESTLY can say that I really love this app. We haven’t used it for long but the dishes are really good and it’s really easy. I have adhd and the way they break the recipes down so it’s manageable is great! I don’t know if I explain more about how I love it.
  • Recipes inedible. App is a mess

Tried the “Hone your skills” pack. Salmon was great. The app is a mess and there’s no iPad version but I was willing to give that a pass if the recipes were good. The second two recipes would be inedible as written. The tomato sauce called for four tablespoons of sugar! I used 2 and it was still way too sweet. Potato salad in the poached eggs were just potatoes covered in mayo.
