I’m looking for a new app. It keeps losing my subscription and giving me error and restarting. I need a reliable app. And I’d also like one that syncs in real time between my phone and watch. This ain’t it.
Watch 8, latest iOS: first time ever Strava lose all record of my ride! As usually I started e-bike ride on my Watch, during ride I checked once that I already drove 15Km and all data records in progress. Then and the end of ride, I check Watch that it’s recording some Walk with 0km and 45min time… some nonsense, I was driving 4hours in a forest and should be 35Km in total..
Love the improvements. More screen real estate would be nice to have a serious Apple Watch, not to mention the longer battery life makes this more useful!
No contact options besides email. Company will co tribute to charge you every year for a canceled subscription no matter what you do or who you contact. Every year they tell me I won’t be charged again and 364 days later. 59.99 on my card. Buy a peloton.
I posted a comment on one of my morning runs and, later the same day, I was bombarded on Instagram with ads addressing that same specific injury. It's amazing how efficient they are at mining and selling our information.
Anyone reading this is either strava developers or people who want to get into it so I’ll give you the straight review. 1. Activity tracking is not the best you’ll ever find. It works great for what you need it to do. But if you want more accuracy or you don’t like carrying your phone then I would suggest getting a Garmin Watch. This leads me to the next portion of the review. 2. Seamless connection between dominant apps. If you use garmin for runs or biking or swimming strava connects perfectly. Great development in the app systems. Doesn’t take forever to load and you can track without data. Great app development 3. Social aspect is awesome, simple “kudos” are awesome to receive, comments are a great addition, and the group runs, group competitions, local legends and course records are all fantastic. So well thought out!!!! 4. Free version vs subscription. Anyone thinking about buying the subscription read this. You don’t really need it. Strava functions perfectly without the subscription but with that said the subscription is quite nice if you want to pay for it. I love the map types and GAP but they aren’t essential as a start out trail runner or road biker. 5. Just a tip don’t join a ton of clubs and be careful who you let follow you. I would suggest a private profile where followers have to request to follow you. Just a smart move to keep your privacy. 6. Loving the new function to “mute” activities. Quite genius so you can still participate in club activities and get local legend efforts but not let everyone see dumb runs 😂😂 Hope this helped some of you! Developers I would love to see a pace calculator addition like Vdot as a profile extension
Finally bought in and decided to get a year of Premium. Nothing unlocked. It says my account is free, and if I Restore Purchases it says “Purchase can not be verified.” Not sure how every other app in the store can figure this out but not Strava.
I love this app, HOWEVER, the “local legend” feature is a joke. Supposedly it is a title given to the individual who rides a certain segment the most within 90 days. There are probably 20 of these near my house where I have several dozen rides (and Strava has all of them listed including all the segments), yeah I am the local legend of none of them, and most of these “legends” have less than 10 rides. Pretty terrible algorithm
App is buggy. its cut out on two of my past runs tracking only about a mile or less on 6 and 4 mile runs. im really disappointed with it
