  • What about Latin?

So I love Duolingo and all, it’s super cool and I’ve learned Spanish and Latin. How ever, I’ve noticed that Spanish has a lot of cool side affects, like stories and pictures and every character has their own unique voice, but Latin has none of these cool things. I think that y’all think that everyone wants to learn Spanish, so u make it special, but no one wants to Latin, so u don’t even bother making it cool. I mean, I love the app, but I want to have fun learning Latin like did with Spanish. Thanks in advance, I’d love to see some Latin upgrades. 👍

The format of how lessons done are great.

    But…
This is the most aggressive app I’ve ever had when it comes to in app purchases. You can try to use the app for free but every minute it stops the lessons to try to get you to buy something…. Soooo mannny ads that it’s hard to use the app.

The app didn’t used to be this bad with ads and in app purchases.

Don’t get me started on the absolute mountain of stupid unstoppable animations and achievements that are thrown in wasting your time.

The worst thing they did was force users to use “hearts”. You can only have 5 and it severely limits the amount of time you can spend learning a language…. Which time spent is one of the most important part of learning a language….

    Absolute dumpster fire

I have only used Duolingo for a few days. It is easy to use, fun to use and so far it has increased my knowledge of Ukrainian by a lot. I have picked up quite a few words from being in country for a while, but Duolingo has helped me tie things together.

  • No paid customer support - what is this, a scam?

After the debacle of the unveiling of “the path” this year, the app became unusable to me, because it placed me way way way too far ahead in the language I was learning. I’ve been trying to get support to get back to me for weeks. It’s insane that they can charge so much for a product and NOT offer guaranteed customer support. I’ve never ever encountered something like this with any other product. In fact, expensive products like this usually respond very quickly!

I don’t plan to renew my paid account if they won’t address the problem here. I know they could easily revert the fake “progress” on the course back. The only option it seems I have is to delete the course entirely and start over. Lol no way am I doing that. What a bummer man, I used to love this app and recommended it to everyone left and right.
  • Lack of humanity.

I used this app for years until now!
Why did a language app feel the need to mock a woman who has a vaccine injury!
I am appalled and so very disappointed.I will spend my time and money elsewhere.

It’s definitely a good app for learning but I was really hopeful and looking forward to them adding European Portuguese instead of things from shows and movies because the difference can be really big in thoughts types of languages

This app is easy to use and understand and it teaches the fundamentals of Spanish really well. It is very entertaining at a great price. FREE! You can learn several other languages to your liking.
