  • Not Perfect but Very Good

I purchased the lifetime access to all languages over a year ago and I’m glad I did. I’ve done most of the Norwegian course and some of the (Brazilian) Portuguese course. I really like the way the lessons and courses are structured, with freedom to choose any course. I wish there was a bit more grammar instruction but perhaps it would be difficult with Babbel’s format. It’s at least a good starting point.
Norway has many different dialects and accents so I’m glad there is some inclusion of accents outside of Oslo. The Portuguese course also has 2 of the main accents in Brazil.
I have found and reported probably a dozen typos (the audio is always correct but not the text), but the support team is usually very responsive and usually gets the typos corrected.
I have to mention that I’m impressed with Babbel’s humanitarian efforts. Babbel rushed to complete an English course for native Ukrainian speakers as millions of refugees have settled across Europe, and gave free access codes to the refugees.
In general, Babbel is really effective at teaching you to start speaking as soon as possible. I said a few phrases in Portuguese at a Brazilian wedding after a couple weeks of using Babbel and the Brazilians were impressed (I’m not that great). If you decide to buy Babbel and use it every day, you will get your money’s worth.

    I absolutely love this app!
  • Lessons Great “In App Sales” NOT

    By Jim W. Is Taken
The APP seems not to be able to recognize when you subscribe for a six or 12 month plan and keeps pestering until you go through the subscription process a second or third time!
  • Worth it.

Very user friendly. Helps you to jump right in and grasp things.
  • When I go to the park with a consonant I couldn’t understand a word they were saying

    By Dissed in Dallas
I couldn’t understand what the people were saying or the difference between the continents so it makes it very confusing especially when you’re trying to learn upfront.
  • Eh

Babbel has been very helpful independently and as a supplement to regular weekly Italian classes. Recommend highly!

I’ve been learning Spanish for a couple of months now, using Babbel, flash cards, YouTube, and my own methods. I’ve got to say this app is amazing and the team constantly updates the app making it better. I Highly recommend this app for anyone trying to learn a new language
