Update on 11/10/2022 just crashes. Makes the app completely useless. Did they even test it?
Check out their Instagram and you’ll see they must’ve bought their followers. 20k people but can’t even get a 10th to interact on a post. Additionally they lock the comments to stop useful conversation about their poor quality product. Which let me review that: The app had 0 rides in the state of Texas. When I tried to use the map to move around to confirm this is froze and never came back. The search function never allowed me to type. 0/10 app, with a community that is of similar rating. Additionally whoever runs their social media has too much time on their hands. Probably doesn’t need a job only focusing on that when you should pay developers to make a working app. Their social media manager deflected their apps failures and said to “use the website”. What is the point of this app then Apple?
Such a useless app downloaded it to see all the off road trails / single track but it doesn’t even list them all. Only seen 5 trails in the midwest area when I know there are hundreds of single tracks. Not to even mention how slow it takes to load them using the “discover” tab. Using google is much faster and better.
I have a brand new iPhone 13 Pro Max. I installed it because it came with a Revzilla Riders Plus sub. Normally I charge my phone and when I’m working on the home office all fay, I get down to around 87% better around midnight. Today, first day using it, I was down to 36% at 4pm. I stuck it on the charger and turned off background update for REVER. Normally, I can go from 15-20% to fully charged in 45 mins. This time, I charged it for hours and only got to 41%. Battery meter shows REVER is taking 87% battery consumption. What a useless app, regardless of the functionality. These guys have. I idea how to write an application. Pathetic. Tried it again after the new “off-road” capabilities were added. I know all the off-road riding in the next 150 miles and absolutely none of it showed up in the Rever app. There was some stuff in another state (2 small state parks) that I wasn’t aware of that showed up, so that was positive and I will check out. However, this just seems like the most useless app ever. I really wanted it to work, especially as an RPM subscriber, but it’s not working yet.
The discovery feature for finding cool routes just shows a standard map with nothing to discover, so basically this app does nothing over my default GPS app.
Still doesn’t work in Can Am Spyder dash for navigation. It’s not easily offline capable because you have to remember to download maps for the route. Needs record button. - When the navigation update happened I found it worked in my Spyder dash. Then there was an update and it hasn’t worked since. Map is greyed out. Also the record button need to be available like it was before. As it is, it’s worthless for smartphone integration.
I got REVER for the safety sms feature. We both thought it would be a great way for each other to have peace of mind when riding solo. I subscribed on June 24th 2022 and was religious to use it even when we were riding together. We loved looking at each other’s rides and the crazy things encountered on the road with our “dash cams”. On July 23rd 2022, less than a month after I paid for a year membership I was involved in a bad wreck while riding. That feature that made both of us get the pro membership? The “Safety SMS” text? Nope. He got absolutely nothing from REVER. He instead got the phone call that every family member dreads. That I had been in an accident, and to get there as soon as possible because it was bad. I was airlifted from the scene shortly after he arrived at the wreck. REVER did absolutely nothing to alert my emergency contact. I had put labels on each of our helmets and on each of our bikes with the name and number to call in an emergency, and set up my medical ID in my phone. (Which somehow was fine after being thrown 300 yards or so from it’s mount). My app was running. He even received the text that automatically goes out when you start a ride. “Your friend ____ is heading out for a ride”. I thought maybe I had forgotten to start it until hubby returned my phone to me after the surgeries to repair the broken bones and to stop the bleeding. It was still running more than 17 hours later. To add insult to a lot of injury when I tapped the “Finish Ride” button he received the automated “Your friend has just finished a ride” message. Bottom line: Don’t trust that this app will work when you need it most. I was lucky enough to have never lost consciousness, and thankful that I had other ways for him to be contacted by the first responders and witnesses on the scene. If it had been a low traffic area I probably wouldn’t be here, especially when the app I had set up for just such a circumstance didn’t do what it promised!
It requires signup before showing us the map, I deleted immediately after this comment
I’ve deleted the app and will reinstall. The verbal directions seem to have me turning at every intersection to return to the starting point, or they want me to turn on a street that I’m no where near. It must be a glitch, and I’ll reinstall it. If it fixes it, I’ll give a better review.
I just want to plan a trip to a National Park but there is no option to select a destination! I shouldn’t have to figure it out! What a waste of money. Also, trying to access Butler maps on iOS is impossible. The instructions are for a PC or a Laptop. I am using a current model iPhone and the app looks great but everywhere I look to do a trip is a dead-end. I have Pro version and the app recognizes that but the Butler maps are not where all the turorials say they are.
